Punta del Este Food and Wine Festival 2013
Punta del Este Food and Wine Festival is the main gastronomic event of Uruguay. This event gathers great chefs from different parts of the world, fine cuisine and great wine cellars in elegant and exclusive famous areas of Punta del Este.
It is the fourth edition of the Punta del Este Food and Wine Festival and this time it will take place on the 12th and 13th of October 2013. The four events will be held not so far from Punta del Este and in very exclusive places such as Hotel Mantra, Colinas de Garzón, Hotel Playa Vik in Jose Ignacio and Pueblo Garzón. There will be shuttles taking visitors to each event.
In all, there will be two lunches, one evening and one opening dinner, in the two days of events. Visitors will have the chance to meet and great chefs from Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, alongside with renowned wine cellars and various brands of drinks.
The Festival Punta del Este Food and Wine Festival has become the largest and most exclusive gourmet event in the country.
The 4 Events of the Food and Wine Festival.
1. Opening Private Dinner at Mantra Resort
In the exclusive Indigo restaurant, Chef Patricio Gutiérrez will welcome the Chef Martín Baquero from Buenos Aires to offer a unique menu, combined with the best wines from a selection of well-known wineries in the region and the world. This unique dining experience is for only 70 people and will be the opening of the 2013 Edition of the Punta del Este Food and Wine Festival.
2. Round the world in Six “Cuisines”
Marked by a spectacular landscape of hills, streams and lakes, this unique event of the Punta del Este Food and Wine Festival combines fine dining with the experience of going through the vineyards and olive groves of the establishment Colinas de Garzón, where you can learn more about the history of olive oil.
There will be a luxury lunch, where chefs from different parts of the world will offer some of their best creations, which can be enjoyed with wines from Bodega Garzón (Uruguay) and Bodega Vistalba (Mendoza, Argentina).
3. Sunset Chillout Food & Dance
Visitors of Punta del Este Food and Wine Festival can celebrate one evening in the hotel Playa Vik in José Ignácio, in an architectural masterpiece which combines cutting-edge elegant spaces and contemporary works of art with the sound of the ocean and views of the sunset.
During this event DJ’s will be playing live music designed especially for the menu that will be prepared by four major international chefs, with a Black River caviar station and delicious cocktails prepared by the famous Mixologist Tato Giovannoni.
4. Seven Fires by Francis Mallmann
The charm of Pueblo Garzon and the presence of Francis Mallmann’s ” live” cooking are the hallmarks of Punta del Este Food & Wine Festival and a must for lovers of good food.
The “Plaza del Pueblo” will be prepared to welcome our guests with tables of cold appetizers with traditional dishes of lamb, pork, chicken, salmon and steak varieties of vegetables prepared by undisputed ambassador Francis Mallmann.
An elegant picnic day in the field will be offered with the best labels of the wineries of Uruguay, Argentina and Chile, as well as other well known beers and more surprises.
Without doubt a true feast to end the 4th edition of the Punta del Este Food and Wine Festival.
