The Cipriani Group plans to open Locanda Punta del Este in December 2025 on the site of the former Mantra Hotel. The property will offer 100 rooms and suites that combine classic Italian design with the natural surroundings of La Barra. Amenities will include an outdoor pool, gym, yoga and Pilates studio, spa, cinema, and indoor and outdoor event spaces. Additionally, the Casablanca beach club, situated between Montoya and Manantiales, is set to open this season. The culinary options will feature Harry’s Table restaurant and a lobby bar, both designed by architect Hassen Balut, where Italian cuisine will be paired with local ingredients in a relaxed, elegant setting. Giuseppe Cipriani, the group’s CEO, describes luxury as “simplicity and doing things well,” aiming to make guests feel at ease.
