The apartment in the historic building Palacio Salvo in Montevideo (National Historic Landmark) is located on the 22nd floor by the Plaza Independencia. There are only two apartments per floor which offers privacy. The apartment is shaped in a semi-circle in the main tower with three arched windows that open to a balcony surrounding the apartment with spectacular views to the sea, bay and city. It has an atmosphere like an open loft room including a bedroom/study, bathroom with shower and fully equipped kitchen. It has heating, air condition and several storage spaces and a small one in the basement above the service spaces. The apartment can be renovated if desired. The Palacio Salvo, an eclectic Art-Deco style building was designed by Italian architect Mario Palanti, who also built Palazzo Barolo, his twin in Buenos Aires. It’s design was inspired by the Divine Comedy of Dante and some allusions can be seen. It was inaugurated in 1928. With its characteristic silhouette, it has become the most emblematic building of Montevideo and testimony of the Montevideo city from the first decades of the 20th century. The Palacio Salvo is located in the heart of Montevideo, surrounded by offices, shops, restaurants, a few blocks from the port of Buquebus. The Radisson Hotel with restaurant and spa is in walking distance. The building has a doorman all day and security guards all night. Ideal for a quiet pied-a-terre or studio in Montevideo.
