This large one-of-a-kind farm in the Pueblo Eden area near Punta del Este is located in what many Uruguayans say in the prettiest part of Uruguay just 100 Km from Montevideo and 40 minutes inland from the Atlantic Ocean in Punta del Este.

Punta del Este is a popular resort city with restaurants, hotels, shopping, hospitals, supermarkets, and all services. Punta del Este has a very nice private airport that can handle almost all larger private jets. The total size of the land is 102 hectares or 252 acres. The land consists of several parcels of land (padrones), all contiguous, surrounded on three of its four sides by a beautiful small river, which transverses the land and is crossed with a new professionally designed, engineered, and architecturally built bridge, which makes it possible for easy internal access to the whole farm to move animals and equipment. FARM or RANCH?…So far, we have referred to this special property as a “Farm” but the owner likes to refer to it as a Ranch because he has not developed it for row cropping and high agricultural yields.  Instead, he has maintained quality pastures and soil fertility for the maintenance of healthy animals. This has resulted in a very nice property that has been free of chemical contamination for 8 years. Currently, the ranch is easily supporting 114 animals made up of Herford mama cows, heifers, 8 horses and pets of six llamas, 8 burrows, and two Jersey milk cows and their AI calves.  These milk cows provide high-quality A2 milk, which is much more healthy and non-allergenic.  There has never been an approach to push the envelope on commercial production but more of a focus on lifestyle, quality healthy animals, and enjoyment.  This is not to say that it is not a working ranch because it maintains upwards of over two hundred stock animals, over 40 others including about 40 laying hens, llamas, borrows, but fortunately they are all perfectly maintained by the amazingly talented caretakers husband and wife “caseros” who have lived there for over seven years and have been directly involved with the owners for 7.5 years.  The husband has been involved with the many improvements over the last several years such as constructing several buildings: a “carniceria”, storage buildings, working pens, an amazing large “galpon”, all new fencing for the whole property, drilling new wells, planting fertilizing and maintaining all the advanced modern equipment not more than two years old. Other than fertilizer containing nitrogen and minerals, there have been no chemicals on the land for at least 8 years, the time of the current owners.  The pastures have been continually improved every year.  The farm is totally current with all needed top equipment and more. Two new Massey 4-wheel drive fantastic tractors and top-notch loaders, rotary cutters, tillers, forklifts, and other implements. A very nice benefit is the amazing raised bed vegetable garden enclosed with a new wooden frame and quality wire netting to protect from the birds. It has been sustained with permaculture techniques.  There is an additional permaculture three-year-old forest, both of which are productive yet requiring minimum work, which the “caseros” appreciate.  There is an olive orchard of around 300 10-year-old trees, a small but productive fruit orchard for lemons, limes and tangerines. All of these trees are also chemical-free from pesticides. The new modern beautiful brick 3,500-3,700 plus sq ft home is only 10 to12 years old and has been exquisitely maintained with four bedrooms, 3.5 full baths, and a guest powder room. The living room boasts a large and functional wood-burning fireplace with an unusually large insert imported from Spain that heats most of the house.  In addition to the large open living and dining room with vaulted timber ceiling as is most of the house, there is an amazing outside patio with a BBQ Grill “parilla” and a separate custom new special pizza baking oven. The large live-in kitchen has all new granite countertops with a gas stove, oversized refrigerator and freezer and even an additional wood cookstove imported from Spain, which is lots of fun to use in winter months.  There is a pantry and laundry room near the kitchen. The large additional family room with built inside “parilla” and wood deck looks out over the backside of the farm and river. Uniquely there is a real complete bodega below the family room mostly below ground level, temperature and humidity controlled and can be used as a tasting room or hang-out and game room too. Every room in the house contains its own heat and air system. All of the buildings like the main house, caretaker house, guest house and all work spaces are in excellent like-new condition. The barn or “galpon” with an interior of about 400m2 is all finished with concrete, a loft for storage, electric doors, and a two-car garage with electrically remote operated car doors.
